Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to report on time to a scheduled shift when called, based on the department's need for juvenile supervision
- Provide complete supervision of youth who are in custody as outlined in the Facility Procedures Manual for each 8-hour shift
- Duties include, but are not limited to, serving meals, maintaining a clean and sanitary facility, providing juveniles access to restrooms and shower facilities
- Transport youth and/or act as an escort to appointments, such as court, assessments and other facilities
- Maintain records as required
- Other duties as assigned by Facility Administrator and/or Director
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED); home schooled individuals may be considered contingent upon successful validation of high school education equivalency accredited by the State in which schooling took place
- Pass the Texas criminal background check, local law enforcement sex offender registration check, FBI fingerprint based criminal history background check (NCIC), agree to a criminal records check and meet the requirements of the Texas Conde of Criminal Procedure as listed in Texas Family Code Section 351
- At least 21 years of age
- Possess a valid Texas driver's license
- Be able to stand, walk, push, pull, and lift in excess of 25#
