Juvenile Services District Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Supervises employees engaged in providing professional social work services to juveniles and oversees programs in the district.
• Plans, assigns and evaluates the work of employees responsible for ensuring delivery of services to juvenile offenders in a defined geographical area.
• Provides supervision to district staff providing necessary direction and conducts employee performance evaluations according to regulations and statutes.
• Oversees training of juvenile workers.
• Counsels and guides juvenile workers on the more complex and difficult cases.
• Directs and oversees the resolution of crisis situations with juveniles and their families.
• Attends District Court sessions and community meetings.
• Serves as a member of local community committees and workgroups.
• Compiles monthly reports on district operations and monitors budget.

Requirements

• A master's degree in social work, sociology, juvenile justice, corrections or a related field.
• Four years of professional experience in providing services to juvenile offenders and/or adult offenders.
• A valid driver's license prior to employment in this job classification.
• Maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree supplemented by two years of professional social work experience can substitute for the required master's degree.
