JUVENILE DETENTION DIRECT CARE WORKER

About the role

Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Juvenile Detention Direct Care Worker at the Davidson County Juvenile Detention Center (D.C.J.D.C.) in Nashville, Tennessee.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person safety and security around-the-clock.
• Mentor and develop skills of each youth through individual support.
• Monitor and document behaviors and activities.
• Assist with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities.
• Collaborate with other professionals to meet each youth's treatment plan goals.

Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a criminal background check, drug, physical, and TB test.
• Pass a search of the child and adult abuse central registry.

Qualifications

• Experience working with at-risk youth is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including day and night shifts.

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of juvenile justice systems and best practices.

Pay

$20.50 - $21.50 per hour based on education and experience.

Schedule

• 4 days on/3 off – 3 days on/4 off.
• Day Shift: 7am – 8pm (12-hour shift *1 hour break *).
• Night Shift: 7pm – 8am (12-hour shift *1 hour break *).
