About the role
As a Juvenile Correctional Security Officer - Entry Authorization in Ridgeville, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in government industries. As an Access Control Security Professional in a government location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, support badge-related processes, and help maintain an orderly environment for staff and visitors. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and help deter security-related incidents through a visible, professional presence. This is a driving position.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to staff, visitors, youth residents, and authorized contractors by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities at a government juvenile services location.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, maintain visitor logs, and direct individuals according to established facility procedures.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, promptly notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activities as required.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, building areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized entry and identify security-related concerns.
- Maintain clear communication with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership regarding access issues, unusual activity, and policy violations.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Have at least six months of security-related experience.
- Meet DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccination requirements.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
