Assistant Teacher

The Goddard School® located at: 871 Oakwood Dr. Rochester, MI 48307 is seeking a motivated and caring Assistant Teacher!

We put our teachers first because they put our students first. You'll support the Lead Teacher in creating engaging programs, managing the classroom and ensuring a safe, stimulating environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions
• Prepare classroom materials and ensure a safe, clean and inviting learning environment
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging
• Assist in communicating with families about their child’s progress and daily activities
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment
• Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred
• Shows empathy and compassion for young children
• Works productively without supervision
• Basic understanding of child development
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
• Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience and credential requirements
