About the role
Dunn County is seeking a professional and dependable Jury Bailiff to serve as a key liaison between the judiciary, court staff, witnesses, attorneys, and the general public. This position provides assistance to jurors and helps ensure court proceedings run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Provides security and care of jurors; maintains contact with jurors throughout the jury trial and breaks.
- Prepares jury rooms and courtroom prior to trial to ensure rooms are supplied and clean; provides necessary materials for jurors.
- Maintains inventory of supplies for jury room and coordinates purchases with the Clerk of Court.
- Aids in juror sign-in and seating arrangements during jury selection.
- Manages and accounts for jurors’ notes and exhibits offered during trial and upon conclusion.
- Oversees and directs jurors during trials to ensure court admonishments and instructions are followed.
- Collections juror meal and refreshment orders to the Clerk of Court for in-house delivery; transports/escorts jurors to offsite meals; provides morning meals and refreshments.
- Serves as a liaison to sequestered jurors in hotels and assists in arranging for necessary special accommodations.
- Provides for special needs of jurors as necessary.
- Carries out directives from the judge.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Requires a minimum of one (1) years previous courtroom or law enforcement experience.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of industry, county and department policies, practices and procedures; ordinances, laws, best practices and legal guides.
- General knowledge of court procedures, emergency evacuations and protocols.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with elected officials, colleagues, managers, and the general public.
- Ability to follow Dunn County policies and procedures.
- Ability to work the allocated hours of the position.
Skills

Benefits
Retirement: The County provides a retirement account in Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS).
Pay
The hourly rate for this position is TBD. Part-time positions will receive $2.61 per hour in lieu of fringe rate.
Schedule
Work hours are limited and vary based on court schedules and case needs.
