This Junior Technical Support Engineer role offers an entry point for early-career individuals to develop technical support and operations skills within a media technology environment. The position focuses on providing frontline support to clients, troubleshooting live video technology issues, and gradually taking on more complex operational responsibilities. This role is critical to maintaining client satisfaction and ensuring the smooth functioning of technical services.
Responsibilities
- Provide initial troubleshooting and technical support to clients via phone and email.
- Manage client relationships as a primary contact for support inquiries related to the company’s products and services.
- Escalate advanced technical issues to senior engineers and monitor resolution progress.
- Communicate issues and solutions effectively to internal teams.
- Document client interactions and support activities accurately.
- Assist senior engineers with Level 2 support and infrastructure maintenance as skills develop.
Requirements
- Genuine interest in technology, networking, and live video/media delivery.
- Strong eagerness to learn and resolve problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer-focused with a collaborative mindset.
- Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science, or related IT field.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts such as IP addressing and routing.
- Some exposure to Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
- Interest in video streaming, network protocols, CDNs, or cloud platforms is beneficial.
- Familiarity or willingness to learn tools like Wireshark, Datadog, or Grafana is a plus.
Pay
The annual base salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000, plus an annual bonus opportunity.
