About the role
We are seeking a Jr Systems Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will primarily focus on first-level tickets escalated to the team, ensuring our IT infrastructure runs smoothly while building a foundation for more advanced responsibilities. You’ll handle user account and computer setup/decommissioning, troubleshoot basic day-to-day tickets, and make a significant impact on our team.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
- Support operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and macOS
- Manage user accounts using tools like Active Directory
- Assist with software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Provide basic networking support (IP configuration, DNS, VPN)
- Configure, install, and support desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
- Coordinate with third-party vendors and IT teams for repairs, updates, and troubleshooting
- Provide timely, professional support to end users
- Communicate clearly and explain technical issues to non-technical users
- Maintain accurate documentation and time entries
- Build strong relationships with clients and ensure high satisfaction
- Handle user concerns calmly and professionally, including de-escalation
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- An associate or bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience working in an MSP, internal IT environment, or a similar technical support setting
- Preferred certifications: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Server+, CySA+, MS-900, AZ-900, ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate effectively within a fast-paced, client-focused team
- Enthusiasm for taking on challenges in a growing company with a diverse client base
- Self-driven and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
