Responsibilities

• Supervise the training and cross-training of kitchen personnel in conjunction with the team
• Supervise, expedite, and participate in food preparation, ensuring standards of quality, quantity, taste, and presentation
• Supervise, expedite, and participate in the cleaning of meats, fish, poultry, kitchen equipment, and cooking utensils
• Prepare, season, and cook foods such as soups, salads, meat, fish, gravies, vegetables, desserts, sauces, and casseroles
• Carve meats, prepare portions on plates, and add gravies, sauces, and garnish to servings
• Supervise, expedite, and participate in the preparation and presentation of buffet items
• Check food for taste, temperature, and visual appeal
• Supervise the presentation and return of food
• Store food items in refrigeration boxes to prevent contamination
• Ensure the satisfaction of guest requests for special food items
• Supervise the creation of attractive food displays
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must be excited at the idea of living and working in a remote (yet very social) environment
• Minimum 1+ years of supervisory experience in high-volume food service and restaurant operations
• Ability to manage in a diverse environment with a focus on customer service
• Experienced and proficient in the latest sanitation and standards
• Ability to control cost—food and labor—under the guidance of senior chefs
• Proven leadership experience and the ability to develop these skills further
• Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods of time
• Standard First-Aid certification or higher is an asset
