Junior Software Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Software Engineer with a strong interest in mobile application development, software engineering, and modern mobile technologies. The ideal candidate will assist in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining mobile applications for Android and/or iOS platforms. This role is ideal for candidates with 1–4 years of experience who are eager to build their careers in mobile software development and must be open to relocate anywhere within the United States for onsite client projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain mobile applications for Android and/or iOS platforms.
• Write clean, scalable, and efficient code using modern mobile development frameworks and programming languages.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend developers to build high-quality mobile applications.
• Integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services into mobile applications.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues to improve performance and user experience.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to software development best practices.
• Optimize applications for speed, scalability, security, and reliability.
• Assist with application deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Document technical solutions, application features, and development processes.
• Stay current with emerging mobile technologies, frameworks, and industry trends.

Requirements

• 1–4 years of experience in Mobile Application Development or Software Engineering.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Kotlin, Swift, Objective-C, Flutter, or React Native.
• Understanding of mobile application architecture, design patterns, and UI/UX principles.
• Experience consuming REST APIs and handling JSON data.
• Knowledge of Git or other version control systems.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. A relevant Master's degree is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Android SDK, iOS SDK, Flutter, or React Native.
• Knowledge of Firebase, push notifications, mobile security, and app performance optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Experience publishing applications to Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
