Junior Software Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience, along with good working knowledge of C, C++, and Python.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain custom software solutions for NASA and other government and commercial clients.
• Work in a Linux environment, focusing on networking and shell scripting.
• Contribute to avionics integration projects or environment simulation development.
• Utilize infrastructure tools for source control, unit testing, issue tracking, and continuous integration.
• Engage in embedded systems development, including firmware design, microcontroller programming, and real-time operating systems (RTOS).

Requirements

• Must be a citizen or lawful permanent resident due to federal position requirements.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering (preferred).
• Experience in software development, particularly in a Linux environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with software development in a Linux environment, including networking and shell scripting.
• Experience with avionics integration or environment simulation development.
• Experience using infrastructure tools for source control, unit testing, issue tracking, and continuous integration.
• Hands-on experience in embedded systems development, including firmware design, microcontroller programming, and real-time operating systems (RTOS).

Skills

• Proficiency in C, C++, and Python.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices.

Pay

Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 annually.

Schedule

Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.
