Junior Software Engineer

U.S. Citizenship is required. Active Top Secret/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph clearance required. This is an on-site position in Annapolis Junction, MD, first shift.

Engineers work on a variety of areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and UI design.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based on documented requirements.
• Work individually or as part of a team.
• Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document test results.
• Resolve software problem reports.
• Utilize software development and design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
• Provide input to software components of system design, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university, or four years of software engineering experience in lieu of a degree.

• Team collaboration and issue tracking tools: Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence), GitHub, ServiceNow.

• Containers and container orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Configuration management tools: Git, SVN, CVS.
