Junior Software Engineer (AI-Forward)

Texas Sports Academy is hiring an early-career, AI-forward Junior Software Engineer to build the software powering its school operations and AI-enabled tools. The role emphasizes fast shipping, full-stack product work, and hands-on use of AI coding workflows.

About the role

Based in Austin, TX or within commuting distance. Daily, fluent use of AI coding tools as the default way of writing software. Excellent written English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Physics
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Physics
• 0 to 2 years of full-time engineering experience

Responsibilities

• Build and ship full-stack product features every week with AI tools alongside you
• Contribute to LLM-powered product features such as tutoring agents, parent-facing copilots, coach-facing dashboards, retrieval over student data, and evals
• Work directly with the founders and senior engineers on scope and trade-offs
• Own smaller systems and features end-to-end as you ramp up
• Write evals and regression tests for AI features
• Ship production code and AI features that students, parents, and staff rely on
• Move features from idea to production in days without breaking things
• Level up AI-engineering skills alongside a senior team
• Build software for school operations, student records, academic mastery tracking, training data, parent portals, and admissions
• Run an AI coding workflow using prompts, subagents, custom tools, and MCP servers
• Grow into bigger systems over time
