Junior Security Consultant

About the Role

ENCS is looking for a junior security consultant to join our team at our office in The Hague. At ENCS, you will work on projects helping network operators with security challenges related to new developments in the electricity grid. You will learn to understand the security needs of the electricity sector and discover the differences between IT environments and industrial systems.

Responsibilities

• Assessing security risks
• Procuring secure equipment
• Implementing information security systems
• Contributing to ENCS member projects and European initiatives such as COCOON and E-FORT, including researching the latest threats and risks for network operators and devising ways to mitigate them
• Participating in the development and delivery of cybersecurity training, helping professionals gain better insight and awareness on topics such as risk assessments, red-team-blue-team exercises, and incident response processes
• Learning on the job, with the ambition to become an industry expert
• Communicating independently and as a team member with stakeholders and ENCS members
• Conducting technical research, writing articles, performing security assessments, publishing white papers, and occasionally presenting

Requirements

• Interest in the security of the electricity grid or industrial systems
• A Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field
• Good communication skills, with experience in writing reports and explaining technical security content to different audiences
• A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently
• Fluent in English and Dutch, both written and spoken

Preferred Qualifications

• Fluent in a third European language
• Good networking skills
• An entrepreneurial mindset
