About the role

The Junior SAP ABAP Developer will design, develop, test, and support SAP ABAP solutions to meet business requirements across the SAP landscape. This includes delivering enhancements, integrations, reports, and forms while ensuring solutions align with development standards. The role involves troubleshooting and resolving defects, collaborating with functional teams and business stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle, and supporting testing, deployments, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead or co-lead complex and/or global digital and IT project tasks to deliver business results on deadline, providing guidance to project resources within and across multiple teams.
• Perform system analysis, interpret data to identify gaps in technology or processes, and make recommendations within IT and/or business functions.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new technologies/services, including communication and reporting to key stakeholders.
• Communicate decisions and formalize recommendations impacting the area of responsibility to managers, business partners, and key stakeholders.
• Serve as a point of contact for communications and project expectations with third-party IT and service vendors.
• Manage priorities, provide direction, guidance, and mentoring to team members, and deliver multiple solutions while managing conflicting priorities.
• Conduct knowledge transfer and cross-training with team members.
• Empower and encourage team members to provide feedback on ideas that deliver quality solutions.
• Travel as needed and provide after-hours technical support when required.
• Develop and enhance SAP Smart Forms, SAPscript, and/or Adobe Forms (ADS) based on functional specifications.
• Support form layout changes, branding updates, language variants, and output requirements.
• Create and maintain ABAP objects supporting forms and output (e.g., function modules, classes, includes, reports, interfaces).
• Develop ABAP solutions from functional requirements provided by functional consultants.
• Assist with configuration-related investigations alongside functional/technical consultants (e.g., output types, partner functions, device types).
• Produce technical documentation and support functional documentation as required.
• Support unit testing, defect fixing, and assist in UAT and deployment activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related area (or international equivalent).
• 4+ years of related IT experience.
• 1–2 years of experience in SAP ABAP development.
• Exposure to SAP Smart Forms, SAPscript, and Adobe Forms (desirable).
• Understanding of SAP basics: development lifecycle, transports, debugging, and basic performance considerations.
• Ability to read and interpret functional specifications and translate them into technical solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated leadership aptitude, learning agility, and adaptability.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage projects effectively.
• Willingness to learn in a client-facing environment.
• Potential for international travel depending on project needs.
