AUSGAR Technologies, Inc. is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Department of Defense government contractor specializing in Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, and Systems Engineering. This role is based in San Diego, CA, supporting a multiyear effort to enhance a Fleet electronic warfare system.
About the role
As a Junior RF Engineer, you will perform RF system architecting, testing, and development of RF systems. Responsibilities include developing project test plans and procedures, providing test planning support, and assisting in lab and field testing. You will design systems adhering to IEEE and IEC high-voltage safety standards and may provide occasional technical or field support.
Responsibilities
- Develop RF systems and perform system architecting and testing.
- Create project test plans and test procedures.
- Support test planning and execution for both lab and field testing.
- Design systems compliant with IEEE and IEC high-voltage safety standards.
- Provide technical and field support as needed.
- Apply signal processing theory and communications systems knowledge to resolve real-world problems.
- Set up antennas for multiple channels and frequencies.
- Use SolidWorks CAD software for design tasks.
- Work independently or in teams based on project needs.
Requirements
- Active Secret security clearance preferred or ability to obtain one (U.S. citizenship required).
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience programming using Java, Python, MATLAB, or C++.
- Experience in advanced digital signal processing, analyzing active and passive filter designs using Simulink, MATLAB, and real-world testing.
- Experience with antenna setup for multiple channels and frequencies.
- Proficiency with test equipment including:
- Oscilloscopes (analog and digital)
- Multi-meters and high-precision multi-meters
- Electronic frequency counters
- Logic probes
- AC/DC voltage standards
- RF power meters and resistance standards
- Signal generators
- Power supplies
- Spectrum analyzers
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of working independently or collaboratively based on project needs.
Pay
Salary range: $65,000–$80,000 annually, with placement in Level I-V based on qualifications. Total compensation includes base salary and a comprehensive benefits package.
