About the role

Based in Los Angeles, the Junior Real Estate Paralegal will support attorneys and senior paralegal staff in all phases of real estate transactions, including finalizing documents for closing, maintaining closing checklists, preparing signature page packets, and attending to post-closing matters such as distributing original documents and preparing closing binders. This role reports to the Paralegal Supervisor, Transactional and Associate Director of Paralegal Services.

Responsibilities

  • Work on deal closings relating to mortgage financing, mezzanine financing, acquisition, and sale of national commercial real estate projects.
  • Maintain closing checklists, prepare UCC financing statements, escrow instruction letters, loan assignment and termination documents, and other ancillary documents.
  • Prepare signature page packets, inventory signature pages, and assemble final documentation for closing.
  • Coordinate UCC, tax lien, judgment, litigation, and bankruptcy searches and prepare summaries of results.
  • Attend to post-closing matters including distribution of original documents, preparation of closing binders, and follow-up of recorded documents, title policies, and other post-closing items.
  • Form corporate entities and prepare operating documentation, consents, and certificates.
  • Apply for employee identification numbers.
  • Prepare transfer forms on ACRIS.
  • Coordinate with external vendors.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with members across multiple offices.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and substantive paralegal experience.
  • Candidate must meet any applicable state requirements governing the performance of paralegal duties, including any required certifications or qualifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.
  • Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar) or legal technology platforms strongly preferred.

Pay

The annual compensation range for this position is $62,000 - $70,000. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
