Job Summary

ZelTech is seeking an Electronics Technician to provide on-site, electronic technician, research, development and test support at CCSFS. This candidate will perform, plan and coordinate the upkeeping, maintenance, and repairs of electronic sensors and associated equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine and periodic maintenance, perform minor repairs, and conduct pre and post operational checks on a variety of equipment including sensors and other electronic equipment.
  • Provide technical expertise to support fabrication, modification, bench test, calibration, and troubleshooting of prototype systems.
  • Plan and coordinate remote sensor test maintenance and prepare for operations involving multiple functions such as readiness, utilization, safety, and interagency coordination.
  • Aid with ad hoc test support projects, including field support and liaison with stakeholders in support of project assignments.
  • Perform hands-on support to all aspects of Cape test operations as assigned.
  • Comply with and facilitate industry hygiene and safety standards and requirements in the workplace.
  • Identify equipment and electronics deficiencies.
  • Support both execution and management of technical projects.
  • Design, develop, and integrate electrical components, as required, into developmental systems to assist in payload to platform integration activities.
  • Track program activities and report status to synchronize and enhance missions.
  • Perform specialized work requiring interpretation and application of concepts, theories, and ability to make sound judgments.
  • Provide technical advice to government project managers and engineers.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a secret security clearance.
  • Must have a high school diploma and 4 - 10 years’ related experience.
  • Ability to manage time and resources.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to present relevant factors (both verbal and written) so that technical information is understood by non-technical end users.
  • Degree of judgment and multi-tasking associated with performing job duties.
  • May provide support on special projects as needed.
  • Eagle PCB design software and PCB’s fabricated at a fab house or fabricated themselves.
  • Connecting and configuring marine components.
  • NMEA-2000 and network configuration.
  • Waterproofing/weatherproofing/ruggedizing electrical components.
  • Soldering skills including SMD (surface mount design).
  • Cable fabrication (i.e. Ethernet, Cat5, Coaxial, etc.).
  • Familiar with circuit analysis.
  • Familiar with microcontrollers and microcomputers.
  • Familiar with RF equipment.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Works well independently or as part of a group.
  • Successful background and drug screening.

Preferred Requirements

  • Associates Degree and 2 - 5 years’ directly related experience.
  • Commercial/industrial electrical power skills to repair/modify/maintain systems and equipment.
  • Previous experience with high voltage (power lineman).
  • Knowledge of standard DoD acquisition regulations, practices and procedures.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and tracking performance metrics.
  • Experience in Risk Management processes.
  • Good writing skills, as there may be a requirement to write reports.
  • Boat owner or operator.
