Responsibilities
- Supports Program Managers with project planning, budgeting, estimate at completion, and financial performance monitoring.
- Aids in tracking project costs, labor utilization, funding, and expenditures against established budgets.
- Prepares recurring financial reports, cost analyses, and project performance metrics.
- Maintains project burn rates and identifies potential cost or schedule variances.
- Supports revenue forecasting and monthly financial projections.
- Utilizes Deltek Costpoint to review project financial data, labor charges, budgets, and funding.
- Assists with project setup, modifications, labor category updates, and project maintenance within Costpoint.
- Supports reconciliation of project financial information and validates data accuracy.
- Generates standard and ad hoc Costpoint reports for project and executive leadership.
- Monitors contract funding, ceilings, closeouts, and periods of performance.
- Aids in tracking contract deliverables, labor hours, and funding status.
- Collaborates with Contracts and Finance to ensure accurate project records.
- Develops and maintains project dashboards, spreadsheets, and status reports.
- Performs variance analysis to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
- Supports data collection for financial audits and customer reporting requirements.
- Cross-functional collaboration with Program Managers, Finance, Contracts, Human Resources, and Business Operations to support successful project execution.
- Responds to requests for project financial information and reporting.
- Assists with special projects, process improvements, and financial analysis initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 1–3 years of experience supporting project controls, finance, accounting, or government programs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and basic financial analysis.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Deltek Costpoint highly preferred.
- Experience supporting federal government contracts.
- Familiarity with contract types including Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP), Cost-Plus, and Time-and-Materials (T&M).
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Excel dashboards, or financial reporting tools.
- Basic understanding of project scheduling or earned value management concepts.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, if required.
