Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Junior Producer to support podcast and video production across preproduction, recording, postproduction, and publishing. This role will assist senior producers with recording sessions (studio and remote), multitrack editing, sound design, video editing, quality control, and distribution. The ideal candidate is technically skilled, organized, and eager to learn production workflows and best practices to help deliver polished audio and video content on deadline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and coordinating podcast and video recording sessions, including scheduling guests and preparing session documentation.
  • Operate and support instudio and remote recording setups (multitrack recording), ensuring clean signal flow and correct levels.
  • Perform audio editing and postproduction: multitrack editing, noise reduction, EQ, compression, mixing, mastering, and LUFS normalization to platform specifications.
  • Edit and assemble video episodes and highlights using Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro; apply basic motion graphics and lower thirds in After Effects as needed.
  • Implement sound design and creative audio elements (beds, stingers, effects) to enhance storytelling and listener engagement.
  • Prepare final deliverables: export in required file formats (WAV, MP3, AAC), apply ID3 tags, generate metadata and show notes, and ensure correct file naming/version control.
  • Manage podcast publishing workflows: RSS feed updates, upload to hosting platforms (Libsyn, Anchor, Podbean), and schedule episodes in CMS/WordPress and YouTube.
  • Create promotional assets and repurposed content: audiograms (Headliner), short video clips, and social media-ready audio/video snippets.
  • Run quality control checks on final assets, verify loudness/format compliance, and troubleshoot issues in playback or metadata.
  • Maintain organized project files and archives using FTP and cloud storage (Dropbox, Google Drive); keep asset logs and backup copies.
  • Support location shoots: camera operation (DSLR/mirrorless), basic lighting setups, boom and mic operation, and field recording best practices.
  • Coordinate with producers, hosts, and editors to meet deadlines, provide clear handoffs, and iterate on feedback quickly.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years of audio/video production and/or production experience with other mediums, working directly with clients, creative teams, and technical teams.
  • A solid grasp of basic and advanced production principles along with experience in successfully applying and advancing those principles.
  • Experience working within an established agency, production house, consultancy, or marketing firm.
  • A strong solutions-oriented approach and understanding of agency processes.
  • An established track record of success delivering a wide range of small to large-scale projects.
  • Familiarity with podcasts as a regular listener; understanding of the podcast ecosystem, including audio hosting and syndication to podcast apps.
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships across disciplines.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • A positive attitude and the flexibility to operate in a dynamic environment with deadlines and changing demands.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • General understanding of investing and personal finance.
  • Fluency with enterprise-level project management tools such as Workfront, JIRA, or Slack.
  • Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industry.
  • Understanding of animation and motion design and ability to articulate differences and best practices for utilization.
  • Expertise in audio production techniques, including fluency with the browser-based recording platform Riverside, audio-editing software (ideally Adobe Audition), and hardware (microphones, headphones, portable recorders, and accessories).
  • Deep knowledge of the podcast industry, including distribution, analytics, marketing/promotions, and emerging trends.
