Junior Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

Join ATR's Engineering Services Division as a Jr. Mechanical/Test & Evaluation Engineer, working at our government client site located at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock, MD. You will contribute to the development and execution of the US Navy’s Underwater Electromagnetic (UEM) Signatures Silencing program as a Test and Evaluation engineer.

Responsibilities

• Support Navy Surface Ships and Submarine on-board countermeasure systems and fleet support.
• Ensure proper testing and evaluation of on-board and off-board UEM, navigation, communication, and tracking systems.
• Provide technical assistance and training to Navy operators.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
• Internship experience with the Navy or other DoD laboratories is a plus.
• Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance or favorable adjudication of a national security background investigation. Current successful background investigation completion is a plus.

Skills

• Experience using solid modeling, analysis, and evaluation of structural/component design.
• Experience with mechanical measurement tools and techniques.
• Experience developing technical solutions based on analysis or testing.
• Proficiency with SOLIDWORKS, MATLAB, AutoCAD, C++, Python, PowerPoint, MS Word, and Excel.
• Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Pay

$86,000–$101,000 USD per year.
