Our network of dealerships offers a wide range of high-quality boats, outstanding customer service, and expert parts and service departments, all fueled by our passion for the boating lifestyle. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Service Department as a Junior Marine Technician.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic routine maintenance including oil changes, winterization, and spark plug & battery replacements.
- Aid in boat repairs, installations, and maintenance on engines and vessel components.
- Support technicians by gathering tools, checking parts inventory, filling fluids, and operating boats during diagnostics.
- Learn to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with experienced technician support.
- Collaborate with the team to address repair challenges, establish workflows, and estimate timeframes.
- Review repair orders and vessel specifications to determine and assist with necessary work.
- Conduct safety inspections and review service histories to inform customers of recommended maintenance.
- Assist with light refurbishment work at select locations.
- Track time and labor for repair orders while minimizing non-billable tasks.
- Ensure boats are cleaned up before returning them to customers.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Occasionally assist in supporting other roles, including moving boats in the absence of a Lot Crew.
- Participate in company-required training sessions, meetings, and communications via email and Microsoft Teams.
- Assist with occasional onsite and offsite promotional events and boat shows, including setup and breakdown as needed.
Qualifications
- Basic mechanical or technical experience gained professionally or through personal projects.
- Willingness to pursue industry certifications and expand technical knowledge.
- Familiarity with tools and their uses; must provide personal basic-use mechanical tools and toolbox.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to read and write professional summaries of completed work.
- Commitment to safety standards.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Natural aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Solid work ethic.
- Valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets company standards, along with a clear background check and drug screening.

Pay and Schedule
The anticipated pay range for this position is $15.00–$26.00 per hour. This includes a base hourly rate of $13.00–$15.00, plus an hourly commission ranging from $2.00–$11.00 based on efficiency level. The average commission earned is typically 6.00 per hour. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. On an annualized basis, this equates to $27,040 to $31,200, with additional commission potential of up to $12,480* (*based on average commission).
