List Of Responsibilities
- Integrates new products into the production line including developing and red-lining Bills of Material (BOMs), technical drawings, work instructions, and job travelers from engineering technical packages.
- Successfully maintains and updates BOMs, technical drawings, work instructions and job travelers through the engineering change order process.
- Solves complex technical problems in a timely manner, with a high success rate.
- Works with members of the purchasing, manufacturing, quality and engineering teams to successfully execute build-to-print projects, suggesting design for manufacturing improvements that help meet cost and schedule and manufacturing requirements.
- Aids in preparing quotes and proposals, works to plan and scope new production projects, including defining materials, personnel, equipment and schedules.
- Works with purchasing team and vendors to ensure build-to-print drawings are understood, and quality/accuracy and certifications are met for subassemblies.
- Troubleshoots complex vendor issues.
- Supports RCCA and Corrective Action Processes with the Quality Manager.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience Either a Bachelor’s of Science in a relevant engineering field, or a relevant certification such as: Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE) – Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) or Certified Manufacturing Technician (CMfgT)
- Years of experience may be substituted for degree.
- Experience working with engineering drawings, BOMs, work instructions and other technical documents.
- Self-directed, actively seeks out tasking and works to keep production flow and process improvement work ongoing.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to develop and use project tracking tools like Excel or Microsoft project.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The ability to communicate both at the customer and the technician level.
Desired Skills/Education
- Previous experience coordinating high-volume build-to-print projects.
- Experience or interest in maritime activities, structures, and/or vehicles.
- Experience coordinating and working with machine shops, welders, fabrication technicians, and other engineering staff, including electrical and controls engineers.
- An existing US Government security clearance would be helpful but is not required.
- Technical curiosity and the desire to conceptualize, design, build and test a wide range of ever-evolving projects being implemented from the seafloor to aerospace systems.
- Leverage Lean Six-Sigma cert.
- Project Management Professional cert.
- PE or quality certifications from American Society for Quality.
