Key Responsibilities
- Create 2D drawings and assist with 3D models using AutoCAD
- Support lofting and plate development efforts
- Prepare CNC cutting files using AutoCAD 2D
- Revise drawings based on redlines and engineering feedback
- Maintain organized documentation and drawing revisions
- Learn fabrication methods and manufacturing best practices
- Collaborate with senior designers, engineers, and production teams
Required Qualifications
- Strong work ethic with dependable attendance and punctuality
- 0â4 years of drafting/design experience (heavy industrial or shipyard preferred)
- Willingness and ability to learn and accept feedback
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D required; 3D experience a plus)
- Basic understanding of fabrication drawings and blueprint reading
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or certification in Drafting or Design
- Introductory knowledge of GD&T
- Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor
- Experience with heavy structural steel and welded designs
- Lofting experience
- Experience developing CNC cutting files
- Experience with CVN or submarine structural design and drafting
- Experience with ASME Code pressure vessel and heat exchanger design
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams)
