Drafter
About the role
Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking a visionary individual to join our team. We provide enabling technologies for industrial growth markets that require advanced technology and high reliability, including aerospace and defense, factory automation, air and water quality environmental monitoring, electronics design and development, oceanographic research, deepwater oil and gas exploration and production, medical imaging, and pharmaceutical research.
Responsibilities
- Create precision designs for mission-critical RF and microwave products
- Prepare detailed layouts and drawings of mechanical parts and assemblies using 2D and 3D software
- Support larger projects involving product structuring and documentation
- Check drawings for compliance with internal and industry standards
- Become proficient in software tools such as SolidWorks, Inventor, PDM, Vault, Altium, PADs, and MasterControl
- Facilitate Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and incorporate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
- Prepare drawings from rough sketches or general instructions and maintain revision control
- Operate plotters, printers, and scanners to produce hard-copy drawings
- Interface effectively with engineers, program managers, and staff at all levels
Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in drafting, design, or related technical field
- AS degree in Drafting, Design, or similar (preferred)
- Senior-level experience with SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent
- Knowledge of mechanical drafting/modeling, dimensioning, and GD&T tolerancing
- Altium/board layout experience (advantage)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Qualifications
- U.S. Person (includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees)
Skills
- Experience with SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent
- Knowledge of mechanical drafting/modeling, dimensioning, and GD&T tolerancing
- Altium/board layout experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
