Junior Java Developer with React 18

About the Role

We are seeking three Junior Java Developers with React 18 experience for a long-term hybrid role in Charlotte, NC. This position requires in-person interviews and is open only to local candidates.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable enterprise applications using Java and React 18.
• Build modern front-end applications using React 18, JavaScript, and related frameworks.
• Develop robust backend services and APIs using Java.
• Participate in the development of a greenfield platform designed to consolidate multiple existing applications.
• Design and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Work with SQL Server for application data and database development.
• Contribute to application architecture, technical design, coding, testing, and production implementation.
• Collaborate with other software engineers, technical leads, architects, product teams, and business stakeholders.
• Follow secure software development practices and ensure applications meet enterprise security standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application performance, functionality, and production issues.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high standards for code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
• Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot, to improve engineering productivity where appropriate.
• Work effectively within a shared-resource model supporting multiple teams and managers.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java.
• Strong hands-on experience with React, with specific experience in React 18 strongly preferred/required.
• Strong JavaScript development experience.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, object-oriented programming, and application architecture.
• Experience working with SQL Server and relational databases.
• Experience with modern software development, testing, debugging, and deployment practices.
• Ability to read and thoroughly understand technical requirements and existing codebases.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with aggressive delivery timelines.
