Java/React Developer

About the role

This Java/React developer position supports the Michigan Department of Transportation's (MDOT) Project Development and Maintenance programs. Responsibilities include collaborating with the project manager, application owner, and resource manager, working on an agile development team to organize work, develop, test, and deploy code.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the project manager, application owner, and resource manager
• Work on an agile development team to organize work, develop, test, and deploy code
• Perform a variety of complex tasks
• May report directly to a project lead or manager
• Strong communication skills, teamwork, self-direction, commitment, and quick learning are essential
• Work closely with UI/UX team members to build modern, responsive user interfaces using React

Requirements

• Programming complex systems using current Java and development tools such as Eclipse/JBoss Developer Studio – 7 Years
• Programming with Java 8 – 4 Years
• Development using the current Spring Framework – 5 Years
• Development with JPA/Hibernate – 5 Years
• Agile development environment experience – 5 Years
• Programming with Oracle 12C or Oracle 19C – 4 Years
• Development using React.js for building responsive user interfaces – Desired/Required based on business need, 4 Years
• Programming in the JBoss Enterprise environment – 4 Years

Desired Experience

• Frontend development experience with a strong focus on meeting WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards (or higher)
• JUnit, Tiles – 4 Years
• Reporting tools such as Jasper Reports – 4 Years
