About the role
The Junior High School Counselor will provide support to students in grades 7 and 8, focusing on academic, social, and emotional development.
Responsibilities
- Assess student needs and develop individualized plans to address those needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to promote student success.
- Provide counseling services to students, including crisis intervention and prevention strategies.
- Implement evidence-based programs and interventions to improve student outcomes.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with students and families.
Requirements
- A Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Valid Texas teaching certificate or eligibility to obtain one.
- Experience working with adolescents and their families.
- Knowledge of adolescent development and mental health issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Experience in a school setting preferred.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws related to education and student rights.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse student body and community.
Skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay
$58,865.00 - $70,922.00 Annually
Schedule
Full-time position, Monday through Friday.
