About the role
Support the Senior Graphic Designer on designing client-facing deliverables such as technical reports, published documents, presentations, competition entries, proposals. Assist in developing 2D/3D technical illustrations, renderings, diagrams, data visualizations, infographics, icons, branded presentations, document templates, and more.
Responsibilities
- Develop 2D/3D technical illustrations, renderings, diagrams, data visualizations, infographics, icons, branded presentations, document templates, and beyond.
- Guide the creative direction of deliverables and provide storyboarding services to technical teams.
- Identify opportunities for visualization in text-heavy documents and propose improvements to narrative communication.
- Creatively apply Buro Happold’s brand guidelines to deliverables.
- Apply clients’ brand guidelines or develop a bespoke visual identity as required.
- Carefully consider the audience for each deliverable and challenge content that may not be relevant to that audience.
- Support in developing company-wide resources that empower engineers/consultants to create their own graphics.
Requirements
- 1+ years of relevant professional experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a field emphasizing visual communication - such as graphic design, information design, architecture, industrial design—or commensurate work experience
- Proficient knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Knowledge of CAD Software (e.g. Rhino, 3ds Max, AutoCAD, Revit)
- Data Visualization Skills (using Tableau, Excel, or other methods)
- Mastery of design principles such as typography, color, and composition
- Knowledge and/or a willingness to learn AI softwares

- Careful listener – can identify a narrative in rough sketches/drafts from engineers and propose the best way to communicate that story.

Pay
Compensation range between $32-36 hourly. This will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience.

Part Time Schedule, 24 hours per week
