About the Role We are looking for a technically proficient Junior Game Developer to join our studio team as an apprentice, contributing to the development of the MMO game, 5th Dimension. This is a fully remote, US Department of Labor registered apprenticeship, leading to a DOL Certificate of Completion while also offering structured learning and direct involvement in shipping high-quality, multiplayer titles. You will work using Unity, Blender, and our own integrated development environment (engine) to contribute code and 3D assets to help define the gameplay experience for our MMO games, taking a generalist approach by tackling a range of tasks across both Unity engine development, 3D modelling, and tech art. The apprenticeship continues for 12 months from the date of commencement, and thereafter an offer for a permanent, full-time role may be made solely at our discretion, creating a progression pathway from apprenticeship to full-time employment. The apprenticeship training that supports this role is a high-intensity vocational training pathway that requires 13 hours per week of educational work with Unity and Blender, and accordingly some basic, pre-existing knowledge and experience of game design in a professional environment is advantageous. In tandem with the apprenticeship qualification, the successful applicant will also be prepared to receive a Unity Associate Certification [https://unity.com/products/unity-certifications/associate-game-developer] at the completion of the apprenticeship, with the Associate certification exam provided by Realityjam and proctored by Pearson Vue. This adds an additional, internationally recognized qualification layer to the outcomes produced by this role. If you’re not yet at the required experience level to apply, our pre-employment pathway offers a direct, mentored route into this role. You’ll gain core skills in asset creation, world-building and Unity dev alongside the Realityjam studio team in a commercial setting, with a direct step into the apprenticeship on completion.
