Junior Forward Deployed Engineer

We help accounting and audit firms adopt AI safely by creating systems that improve reliability, accuracy, and operational trust. We're an in-person team based in NYC and move quickly. Engineers at Clark work closely with customers, product, and leadership to solve real operational problems. The Role We're hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer (E2) to work directly with customers while building technical solutions that help them successfully deploy and use Clark. Forward Deployed Engineers sit between engineering and customers. You'll spend time understanding customer workflows, configuring solutions, building lightweight integrations, troubleshooting issues, and partnering with the engineering team to improve the product. This role is ideal for early-career engineers who enjoy both technical problem solving and working directly with people. You'll have significant exposure to customers, product decisions, and real-world AI deployments while developing strong software engineering and systems-thinking skills. What You'll Do Work directly with customers during onboarding and implementationLearn customer workflows and help translate requirements into technical solutionsConfigure and deploy Clark solutions in customer environmentsBuild lightweight integrations and internal toolingInvestigate customer issues and partner with engineering to resolve themTest product features and provide implementation feedbackDocument implementation processes and best practicesSupport customer launches and deploymentsCollaborate with engineers, product, and founders on customer needsGrow into owning larger implementation projects over time What We're Looking For 0-3 years of software engineering, implementation, solutions engineering, or technical experienceComfortable writing code in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar languagesStrong curiosity and willingness to learn quicklyClear communicator who enjoys working directly with customersAble to break down technical concepts into simple explanationsHighly organized and detail-orientedComfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environmentStrong ownership mindset and bias toward action Nice to Have Internship or professional experience building software productsExperience working with APIsExperience with AI tools, LLMs, or workflow automationExperience with SQL, data analysis, or business operations toolingStartup experienceCustomer-facing experience What Success Looks Like Within your first 6 months, you'll: Successfully support multiple customer deploymentsBecome proficient in Clark's product and infrastructureIndependently handle well-defined implementation tasksBuild internal tools and automations that improve customer operationsDevelop strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders Why Join Clark?
