About the role

CDM Smith is seeking an entry-level Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineer to join our Water Services Group. This position offers an excellent opportunity for early-career candidates to apply engineering skills to innovative and sustainable water projects while growing within a dynamic team. You will support the design and implementation of water and wastewater treatment facilities, sewer systems, pipelines, and associated infrastructure, ensuring compliance with client specifications and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments and adjust design parameters as needed.
• Perform water quality analyses and modeling.
• Contribute to technical report preparation and documentation.
• Collaborate on presentations for client meetings and industry conferences.
• Create documents and presentations using tools like ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, CADD, and Excel.
• Participate in fieldwork supporting construction management activities for comprehensive project lifecycle experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 1 year of related experience (equivalent additional experience may substitute for a degree).
• Intermediate knowledge of computer-assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software.
• Understanding of engineering principles of design.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required (10% or less).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with an Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) company in Water Engineering or a related role for 1+ years.

Pay

Pay range: USD $63,835.00 – $105,310.00. Salary is determined by role, function, responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, education/training, and geographic location. Bonuses are discretionary and may not apply to this position.
