Junior DevOps Engineer

About the role

SURVICE Engineering is currently seeking a Junior DevOps Engineer to support our Gulf Coast Operation. You will accelerate your career and become an integral team member within the defense community. Position located in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Requires an active security clearance or eligibility to obtain one (U.S. citizenship required). Travel approximately 5%.

Responsibilities

• Work with customer and team members to understand project requirements and scope
• Critically analyze and integrate software requirements into applications
• Write efficient code using standard practices
• Work independently and in a team environment as required
• Perform full software life cycle functions including software requirements, architecture, design, code, test, integration, and documentation
• Develop software within the defined agile process
• Conduct research in cATO processes leveraging existing CI/CD and DevSecOps process

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or related discipline and 2+ years of relevant experience (exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered)
• Linux fundamentals and scripting
• Cloud computing skills, including database and network management, with understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GPC), and Microsoft Azure
• Knowledge of Node.js and programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Shell, Bash, and PHP
• Knowledgeable in code analysis, change management, threat investigation, security training, and vulnerability assessment
• Familiar with monitoring tools like Nagios and Splunk; ability to recognize bottlenecks, apply security patches, and upgrade system versions
• Proficient in containerization, continuous integration, and version management

Pay

$100,000 - $130,000 Depending on Experience and Education
