Junior Developer
About the role
We are seeking a motivated Junior Developer with flexible full‑stack and integration-oriented capabilities to join our engineering team. In this role, you will support the development and maintenance of applications, databases, APIs, integration workflows, and lightweight front-end features. This position is ideal for candidates who want to expand their skills in modern development practices while working in a collaborative, team‑focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining application features across back-end and limited front-end components
- Help build, integrate, and maintain RESTful APIs and other service integrations using standard API design principles and OpenAPI specifications
- Support database development tasks including writing queries, managing schemas, assisting with migrations, and integrating data from relational or NoSQL systems
- Use Python to develop scripts, services, integrations, and automation components
- Participate in Linux-based development, troubleshooting, and environment configuration
- Assist in mapping backend data structures to front-end components using JavaScript, React, or other basic front-end technologies
- Help maintain clear, accurate technical documentation
- Work with version control systems such as Git/GitHub for branching, pull requests, code reviews, and collaboration
- Contribute to code reviews, basic automated tests, and quality assurance processes
- Assist in troubleshooting application issues, debugging code, and supporting production deployments
- Stay current with emerging development, integration, and documentation best practices
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience with Python
- Minimum 2 years of experience in software development using Python, Java, JavaScript, Node.js, or other modern programming languages and frameworks commonly used in application, integration, or backend development
- Minimum 1 year of experience building or integrating RESTful APIs using API design principles or OpenAPI
- Minimum 1 year of experience with Git/GitHub for source control, branching, and pull requests
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with relational or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or DynamoDB
- Minimum 1 year of experience with Linux command-line environments
- Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, React, HTML, or CSS (basic understanding only)
- Exposure to AWS or similar cloud services (e.g., S3, CloudWatch, Lambda, IAM)
- Familiarity with modern integration patterns or microservices concepts (general understanding)
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar
- Experience with application documentation, workflow diagrams, or data mapping artifacts
- Basic experience with Docker or container registries
- Awareness of static analysis, automated code scanning, or secure coding tools
- Interest in improving development processes, integrations, or tooling
- Proficiency with common office productivity applications
Pay
The starting pay range for this remote role is $75,168 - $156,600. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
