Junior Developer

About the role

The Junior Developer is an entry-level role focused on supporting the design, development, and maintenance of software applications. This position involves foundational knowledge of programming languages and software development methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Aid in developing and maintaining software applications.
• Write, test, and debug code to ensure functionality and reliability.
• Collaborate with senior developers to implement solutions.
• Support the integration of applications with enterprise systems.
• Document development processes and configurations.
• Conduct basic performance testing and optimization.
• Stay updated on emerging programming tools and technologies.
• Provide user support and training for software applications.
• Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and standards.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in software development.
• Basic knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#).
• Familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, SAFe).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
• Familiarity with cloud-based development tools is a plus.

Qualifications

• Preferred Certifications include: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), GitHub Foundations Certification, PCAP – Certified Associate in Python Programming, or similar.

Benefits

• Salary up to $139,000, depending on qualifications, including relevant certifications, education, years of experience, and demonstrated experience supporting Federal Government programs within the field.
• Candidates with specialized expertise, industry-recognized certifications, and strong Federal contracting experience may be considered at the higher end of the range.
