About the role

Responsible for reviewing artwork and structural box samples and for designing and creating samples or layouts based on customer artwork and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate creative and functional designs for corrugated displays including structural and graphics.
  • Provide accurate and legible documentation (both CAD files and Print Cards) to Sales staff, Customer Service, and Production departments to ensure customer’s needs and production efficiencies are met.
  • Create prototypes and samples using a CAM system to send to customers.
  • Produce small order quantities when required.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
  • Follow corporate Quality, Sanitation, GMP, and HACCP standards to achieve a finished product within quality control specifications.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent certification from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One to two years’ experience in a related field preferred; manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Basic experience operating equipment and machinery, such as a Kongsberg cutting table.
  • Ability to read measuring devices such as a tape measure.

Skills

  • Computer Skills: ArtiosCAD, TOPS or CAPE, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator; Internet software; Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software; Word Processing software.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Mathematics: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

  • Occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • Frequently required to sit.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently required to talk or hear.

Work Environment

  • Not exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather).
  • Occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Not exposed to work in high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold (non-weather); extreme heat (non-weather); explosives; or radiation.
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; outdoor weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.
  • Level of noise in the work environment is moderate.
