Job Description Summary The financial services industry faces persistent attacks from sophisticated cyber adversaries, ranging from nation-states to organized criminal groups. In response, the Raymond James Cyber Threat Center (CTC) serves as the firm’s central hub for cyber defense, operating on the front lines of security incident response, threat hunting, cybercrime investigations, and threat intelligence. This highly visible position combines cybersecurity operations with outreach and advocacy. You will help communicate the CTC’s mission, capabilities, and value across the firm while supporting internal tours, community engagement, local schools, and presentations for prospective associates and partners considering joining Raymond James. By making complex cybersecurity topics accessible and engaging, you will help strengthen awareness of the CTC and showcase how it protects the firm and its clients. The successful candidate will also possess the technical foundation needed to support junior-level cyber threat and cybercrime investigations. Working alongside experienced analysts, you will review security events, gather and analyze evidence, research emerging threats, document findings, and assist with incident response activities. You will work with emerging technologies in a fast-paced, continuously evolving environment while contributing to new detective measures and helping shape the future direction of the Cyber Threat Center. Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities Technical Serve as a junior Incident Handler, managing minor security incidents in accordance with the established Computer Security Incident Response process;Review and investigate Cyber Threat Mailbox submissions through resolution, including confirmed phishing and other email-based threats;Engage with associates who report potentially suspicious emails to gather additional details, provide guidance, and communicate investigation outcomes;Analyze suspicious messages, links, attachments, sender information, and other available evidence to determine risk and appropriate next steps;Document investigative actions, findings, and outcomes clearly and accurately within applicable case-management systems;Escalate confirmed threats, complex investigations, and higher-risk incidents to senior CTC personnel in accordance with established procedures;Collaborate with CTC team members and other stakeholders to support incident containment, remediation, and user education; andMaintain knowledge of security principles, investigative procedures, and industry best practices while staying current on emerging threats and trends. Non-Technical Serve as a visible representative of the Cyber Threat Center (CTC), promoting its mission, capabilities, and value to internal and external audiences;Plan, coordinate, and lead CTC tours for business leaders, associates, prospective partners, clients, schools, and community organizations;Develop engaging presentations, demonstrations, talking points, and educational materials that make cybersecurity concepts accessible to varied audiences;Partner with Recruiting and business leaders to showcase the CTC to prospective associates and financial advisors considering joining Raymond James;Represent the CTC at recruiting events, career fairs, educational programs, community events, and outreach activities;Build awareness across Raymond James through internal communications, success stories, awareness campaigns, and content highlighting the CTC’s business impact;Coordinate with Corporate Communications, Marketing, Recruiting, Community Relations, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging;Maintain tour schedules, presentation materials, visitor information, outreach calendars, and related program documentation;Track participation, gather feedback, and evaluate the effectiveness of tours, presentations, and outreach programs;Identify opportunities to strengthen relationships with business units, prospective partners, educational institutions, and the broader community while supporting other CTC initiatives as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge And Skills Of Cybersecurity fundamentals, common cyber threats, phishing techniques, social engineering, and basic incident response concepts;Security incident handling processes, including identification, documentation, escalation, containment, and resolution;Apply critical thinking and sound judgment to evaluate information, resolve issues, and make appropriate decisions;Email threat analysis, suspicious-message indicators, and safe handling of potentially malicious links and attachments;Effective written, verbal, and presentation techniques for communicating cybersecurity topics to technical and nontechnical audiences;Public speaking, audience engagement, and professional facilitation of tours, presentations, educational programs, and outreach events;Marketing, internal communications, recruiting support, and brand-consistent messaging principles;Community and educational outreach practices, including engagement with students, schools, prospective associates, and business partners;Project coordination, event planning, scheduling, stakeholder collaboration, documentation, and program-effectiveness measurement. Ability to Communicate cybersecurity concepts clearly;Lead CTC tours and presentations;Engage internal and external audiences;Investigate and document minor security incidents; andCollaborate effectively across teams. Educational/Previous Experience Requirements B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or related degree;A minimum of 1 years in Information Technology, including with at least 6 months of related experience in Information Security,An equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Licenses/Certifications CompTIA Security+;ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) accepted as an entry-level alternative;GIAC GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) or Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) considered a plus;Relevant cybersecurity certifications must be obtained within 12 months of hire if not held at the time of appointment.
