Junior Construction & Real Estate Litigation Associate

About the role

Nixon Peabody is seeking a commercial litigation associate to join its Providence, RI office in the Construction and Real Estate Litigation practice group. The successful candidate will work on matters within that practice group as well as broader commercial litigation. The firm has decades of experience representing clients at trial and appellate levels, in international forums, and in mediations, arbitrations, and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct courtroom advocacy
• Take and defend depositions
• Manage discovery strategies and responses
• Research and draft pleadings
• Gain hearing and some trial or administrative hearing experience
• Work in a fast‑paced, client‑centric environment handling a varied caseload of complex issues

Requirements

• Two to four years of commercial litigation experience
• Rhode Island State and Federal Bar admission (required)
• Massachusetts State Bar admission (desirable)

• Strong academic credentials
• Superb judgment and communication skills
• Commitment to providing excellent client services
• Judicial clerkship, internship, or similar experience preferred

Pay

Anticipated annual salary range: $145,000 to $180,000 (Providence, RI)
