About the role
The Junior Compliance Officer (JCO) will support a nationwide investigative services contract for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)/Homeland Security Investigations (HSI)/Worksite Enforcement Unit (WSEU). The JCO will assist in the specialized investigative mission of DHS/ICE/HSI, participating as part of a team in national and international investigative programs, initiatives, and liaison activities. Responsibilities include providing I-9 audit support services and worksite enforcement compliance activities.
Responsibilities
- Input and evaluate data.
- Utilize DHS databases to run queries, prepare spreadsheets, and conduct research.
- Assist Auditors and Criminal Investigators with the evaluation of Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9.
- Draft audit reports and associated administrative fine paperwork to support the issuance of Notices of Intent to Fine, Final Orders, Warning Notices, and other related documentation for HSI audits.
- Coordinate functions and procedures with Criminal Investigators and Auditors.
- Perform administrative functions to ensure compliance with property, time and attendance, facility, and information technology processes at government locations.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree (minimum requirement); Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) preferred.
- Preferred fields of study: Business, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a similar field.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in auditing, investigations support, or law enforcement administrative support (preferred).
- Familiarity with employment eligibility verification processes (preferred).
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office applications.
