Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Learn to study designs of Press Tools and Plastic Injection molds, and prototype parts and visualize shape, mechanical structure, and operation of the die and mold.
- Understand application of Jigs and Fixtures.
- Learn machine set-ups, adjusting speeds, feeds, and depth of cut, to machined parts to specifications set forth in designs, engineering orders, etc.
- Learn to check machined parts for conformance to prescribed tolerances.
Qualifications
- Be willing and able to follow instruction.
- Set-up and safely operate Vertical Milling Machines, Surface Grinders, Overhead Cranes, Saws.
- Proficient aptitude and basic hand tool experience.
- Able to aid in moving, disassembling, cleaning molds and components in a safe manner.
- Understand the importance of accurate documentation and follow described methods and procedures.
- Recognize the challenges of the trade and demonstrate a willingness to learn and desire to advance.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk or hear.
- Ability to lift 5 - 50 pounds.
