Junior Business Analyst
About the role
The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) is seeking a Junior Business Analyst to join the Enterprise Solutions Development Division (ESDD), Health Unit. This position is an Information Technology Associate (ITA) responsible for assessing business needs, gathering requirements, and implementing design changes for system updates and enhancements of the myCalPERS (MCP) system.
Responsibilities
- Assess business needs and gather requirements for system updates and enhancements of the MCP system.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand and document user requirements.
- Develop and maintain detailed design specifications for system enhancements.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure system functionality aligns with business objectives.
- Conduct testing and validation of system changes to ensure they meet requirements.
- Document project progress and communicate findings to stakeholders.
Requirements
This position requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Relevant experience in requirements gathering and design for enterprise applications is preferred.
Qualifications
To be considered, applicants must meet the Minimum Qualifications (MQs) outlined in the Classification Specification. These MQs include a bachelor's degree and relevant experience in requirements gathering and design for enterprise applications.
Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and knowledge of Agile methodologies are desired.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $4,935.00 - $6,614.00 A, with potential for higher ranges based on qualifications and experience.
