About the Opportunity:The JUNIOR BACKEND DEVELOPER role is designed for a developer with 1-3 years of experience to contribute to backend services and REST APIs, primarily using Java/Spring Boot and AWS infrastructure. This position supports the engineering team by building and maintaining production systems, quickly learning the codebase, and progressively taking ownership of technical responsibilities. The role contributes to delivering secure, reliable backend components and enhances the organization's software security offerings. Responsibilities:Design, build, and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Java/Spring BootWrite clean, well-tested, maintainable code and participate in code reviewsWork with relational databases to design schemas, write queries, and address data issuesDeploy and support services on AWS following established infrastructure patternsDebug and resolve production issues while collaborating with the engineering leadUtilize AI-assisted development tools to improve efficiency and learningCollaborate with engineering leads and cross-functional teams to scope and deliver featuresContinuously learn and grow towards independent ownership of backend systems Requirements:1-3 years professional experience as a backend or full-stack developer in any programming languageStrong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, debugging, and problem-solvingAbility to learn new languages and frameworks rapidly; Java/Spring Boot experience is a plus but not requiredExperience building and consuming REST APIsFamiliarity with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQLComfortable working independently in a remote environment with proactive communicationGrowth mindset with openness to feedback and building ownership Pay Range and Compensation Package:Salary range is $85,000 to $110,000 per year Benefits & Perks:Medical insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceUnlimited paid time offSponsored professional certifications and continuing education Equal Opportunity Statement: Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
