About the role
The Junior Art Director (Jr. AD) will work with a junior copywriter to generate and execute creative concepts from design through finished product, ensuring work adheres to client marketing strategies and objectives while meeting deadlines and budgets. The role reports to a senior creative staff member and assists on larger, more complex projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop smart, single-minded ideas that are on strategy and focus first on the idea, then execution.
- Maintain proper layout and conceptual execution throughout all phases of a campaign.
- Perform basic layout in sketch and/or digital formats, ensuring alignment with copy tone and style.
- Assist in research (including literature searches and clinical data interpretation) to identify graphic opportunities for presenting data.
- Develop general medical knowledge in therapeutic areas of primary accounts and tailor designs to audience needs (e.g., physicians, patients, sales reps).
- Participate in creative rumbles and collaborate with copy partners to ensure words and images work together effectively.
- Organize content from multiple sources to create compelling narratives and adapt concepts across various mediums.
- Communicate with team members regarding deadlines, revisions, and quality control; take direction from Art Supervisors.
- Collaborate with illustrators, photographers, retouchers, science bureaus, designers, editors, producers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality work on time.
- Oversee creation of rough concepts for presentation, make timely decisions on work in progress, and report changes to supervisors.
- Support creative approaches that communicate brand personality and messages for campaigns and individual materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Visual Communications, Graphic Design, or a related discipline.
- Portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual capabilities and a strong sense of design (school or speculative work is acceptable).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.

$50,000 – $60,000
Schedule
Omnicom’s policy requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, with potential for increased in-office requirements over time.
