About the role
Beyer Blinder Belle (BBB), an award-winning architecture and planning firm, seeks a Junior Architectural Designer to join its New York City Institutional & Cultural Studio. The studio works with leading civic, cultural, and institutional clients on projects across all phases—from programming and conceptual design through construction.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to design development, documentation, and Construction Administration across project phases
- Participate in programming, design studies, and technical development, including research, evaluation, and implementation of design solutions
- Apply architectural judgment to assigned tasks with guidance from senior staff
- Develop and communicate design concepts through drawings, models, and presentations
- Effectively communicate design ideas and technical issues within project teams
- Manage production of deliverables for smaller projects and contribute to larger project efforts
- Balance responsibilities across multiple projects in a collaborative studio setting
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional experience in architecture; progress toward licensure preferred
- Professional degree in architecture
- Strong proficiency in Revit required; familiarity with visualization and graphic tools is desirable
- Experience working with existing buildings, particularly historic structures, is highly valued
