Junior Architectural Designer

Our Cities & Places team is seeking a Junior Architectural Designer to help deliver innovative, sustainable, and people-focused design solutions that shape communities and improve the way people live, work, and connect.
Responsibilities
- Support architectural design and documentation efforts across all project phases, including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
- Prepare drawings, BIM models, renderings, and other project deliverables using Revit and related design software.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to develop integrated and coordinated design solutions.
- Aid in project planning, technical documentation, and production activities.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, workshops, and design reviews.
- Conduct product research and support material and finish selections.
- Prepare specifications, design narratives, reports, and presentation materials.
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, and construction submittals during the construction administration phase.
- Support project quality assurance and quality control efforts.
- Contribute to innovative, sustainable, and high-performance design solutions.
- Continue professional development and expand technical and project delivery skills.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional architectural experience, including internships, co-ops, and/or full-time experience.
- Proficiency in Revit for architectural modeling and documentation.
- Understanding of building systems, construction documentation, building codes, and architectural best practices.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and design skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Demonstrated interest in developing a career in architecture and the built environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in one or more Cities & Places market sectors, including civic, health, transportation, higher education, federal, commercial, or life science projects.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Enscape, Rhino, or other visualization tools.
- Interest or experience in sustainable design and LEED, WELL, or similar rating systems.
- Experience supporting complex or multi-stakeholder projects through various phases of design and documentation.
- Participation in professional organizations such as AIA, NOMA, AIAS, CSI, or similar industry associations.
- Progress toward architectural licensure.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
