About the role
Lenders Cooperative is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our dynamic accounting/finance team. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in financial services or technology industries. A strong foundation in financial reconciliations, GAAP accounting, proficiency in accounting software, and Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
Responsibilities
- Manage and process invoices, ensuring timely payments and accurate records.
- Reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable ledgers.
- Perform reconciliations of all accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal and external reporting standards.
- Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
- Perform routine accounting activities such as maintenance of the general ledger and preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports.
- Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
- Comply with financial policies and regulations.
- Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and support audits as needed.
- Prepare and present findings to management as required.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for discrepancies.
- Perform administrative tasks as needed.
- Support the accounting team with special projects, ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests, and other tasks as assigned.
- Assist in preparing and filing tax returns and ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Accounting Associate or similar role.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a relevant field.
- Local to the Mechanicsburg, PA Office, in the office at least 3 days a week.
