Junior Accountant

On July 1, 2025, IPL Plastics merged with Schoeller Allibert to form IPL Schoeller. The company operates 11 manufacturing plants in North America and 16 in Europe, headquartered in Dublin, Ireland. About the role

As Junior Plant Accountant, you will support the financial health and operational efficiency of the manufacturing facility by tracking production costs, managing inventory accounting, and ensuring accurate financial reporting at the plant level. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive performance and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze standard costs for raw materials, labor, and overhead
• Monitor and reconcile inventory transactions, including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
• Prepare monthly plant financial statements and variance analysis reports
• Support the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes for the plant
• Track capital expenditures and manage fixed asset accounting
• Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and audit requirements
• Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle counts
• Analyze production efficiency, scrap, and yield variances
• Provide financial insights to support plant decision-making and performance improvement

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred)
• 3–5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in plastics or packaging
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and inventory management
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards) and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with environmental and safety cost tracking is a plus
