Junior Accountant

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations for a commercial real estate portfolio. This role will assist with month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, tenant billings, accounts receivable activities, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate has a foundation in accounting principles, strong Excel skills, and experience with property management accounting systems such as Yardi.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Perform bank, loan, and intercompany account reconciliations
• Support financial statement preparation and variance analysis
• Manage accounts receivable activities, including collections and delinquency tracking
• Assist with tenant billings and CAM reconciliation calculations
• Review and maintain tenant ledgers, adjustments, and write-offs
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
• Assist with audit requests and financial reporting requirements
• Collaborate with property managers and finance teams on accounting-related matters

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
• 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably within commercial real estate or property management
• Experience with Yardi and/or QuickBooks preferred
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Knowledge of accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
