Junior Accountant

About the role

Altum Consulting are partnering with a rapidly growing international technology business that is expanding its finance function in Houston, Texas. The role is an initial 6‑month contract with an ASAP start, with potential to convert to a permanent position. As the business continues to scale internationally, they are building out their finance team and are looking for talented junior finance professionals to join the organisation at an exciting stage of growth. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience within a fast‑paced, international technology environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Perform balance sheet and account reconciliations
• Support general ledger accounting activities
• Assist with intercompany accounting and reconciliations
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Support the preparation of financial reports and analysis
• Maintain accurate and complete accounting records
• Assist with AP, AR and wider accounting activities where required
• Work with colleagues across the wider international finance function
• Support process improvements as the finance team continues to develop
• Ensure deadlines and reporting requirements are consistently met

Requirements

• 1-4 years' experience within an accounting or finance environment
• Experience with GL, month-end, reconciliations or intercompany accounting
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
• Good Excel skills
• The ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A willingness to learn and develop within a growing business
• Experience within a multi-entity or international environment would be advantageous

Pay

Contract Rate: Approximately $225-$325 per day (DOE)

Working Pattern: Hybrid (2 days in office)
