Position Duties
- Distributes and recalls court issued criminal and civil documents to and from agency units, precincts and/or other law enforcement and court agencies/officials.
- Performs data entry and updates of court issued criminal or civil process in agency and FCIC/NCIC databases, ensuring information is accurate and complete.
- Makes transportation arrangements and prepares order to transport for subjects in custody.
- Files court issued criminal and civil documents in accordance with agency procedures.
- Collections and distributes funds and fees related to service of civil or criminal process.
- Maintains financial records of funds and fees related to service of criminal and/or civil process.
- Ensures service affidavits are accurately completed and returned in a timely manner.
- Performs routine office tasks such as preparing routine reports, typing, filing, faxing, telephoning, operating radio and photocopying.
- Maintains various logs, charts, maps, repair logs, wrecker logs and recordings to provide records of all non-emergency actions for follow-up investigative, administrative or legal action.
- Operates/maintains non-emergency equipment such as computers, printers, playback systems, CAD and other systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Requires FCIC/NCIC certification within six (6) months of employment.
- Must have basic computer skills to include various data base systems.
- Must be able to pass the BCSO typing test with a minimum score of 30 wpm.
Additional Information
- Work is performed in an office environment.
- Employees are required to be flexible and must be available to work all shifts during training to include days, nights, weekends, holidays and during natural disasters.
- A shift will be assigned after successful completion of training.
- Shifts are 2:00pm - 12:00am or 9:00pm to 7:00am; 3 days off each week - must be able to work either of these shifts; days/nights, weekends, holidays and during natural disasters.
- Successful completion of a criminal background investigation including polygraph, reference/employment/neighborhood checks.
- submit to screening for illegal drug use prior to assuming position and will be subject to return to duty, post-accident and/or random and reasonable suspicion drug tests while employed with BCSO.
